Purposely blurring an image can serve a range of purposes and convey a variety of different meanings.   Blurring can occur through motion of the camera, motion of the subject or shallow depth of focus in the camera settings.  The juxtaposition between a blurry portion of an image and a portion of an image that is razor sharp can be particularly effective, often conveying a strong sense of  Emphasis . Blurring can also be achieved post-production through image processing (Photoshop). Here are some effective examples of purposely blurred photography. Below the images are links to more information. Explore them or do your own web research to gather ideas for your  Blurred  project. http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/2012/03/02/in-pictures-30-great-examples-of-motion-blur-photography/ http://digital-photography-school.com/a-beginners-to-capturing-motion-in-your-photography/ http://www.sm...

2-Face I think you get the idea. Look closely at the portraits and imagine how they were created--think through the steps and how you would replicate that effect.  All you will need is a 1 frontal and 1 from the side. There are lots of examples of this particular effect on the web--probably tutorials too, but you shouldn't really need one of those.

S e c o n d a r i l y For this project, you will be pairing off with a classmate to produce an image that combines photographs created by each student. 1) Students are assigned a primary color. 2) Students are assigned a partner. 3) Students take a roll's worth of photos (24-36) using the color they have been assigned as a guiding influence. 4) Students share all of their photos with their partnering classmate. 5) Students select one their partner's photos and through The Magic Of Image Compositing © , combine it with one of the photos that they shot for this project into an interesting composition.   In addition, the new composite must prominently highlight the secondary color that results from the combination of their & their partner's colors.   i.e. Red + Blue = Purple
