Shadows


Your next challenge will be to play with light (or the absence of light) in the form of shadows.  There are no other caveats, other than trying to create really well-composed and thought-through photos, not just snapshots. These images should reflect deliberate photo-making and all aspects of the image plane should be considered, backgrounds included. Of course at this level, focus, contrast, etc. should be non-issues.

Here are a couple of interesting shadow photos, but there are literally tens of thousands of examples on the web, so take some time this period, visit some sites and explore photography where shadows are the subject. 

 Find 3 images that you feel are particularly effective at portraying the use of shadows in photography and post them to your Blog along with a brief description of why you find each of the images compelling.

Project 2, 4th Quarter "Ovoids"

Non-Denominational, Spring Ovoids That Just Might Be Appropriate  For The Mid-April Holiday Of Your Choice https://www.vecteezy.com/vector-art/144933-traditional-patterned-easter-eggs-vectors We will continue this week with another Pixlr-based Project intended to enhance your familiarization with Pixlr and the Pixlr workspace. Encroach Your next project deals with the power of natural forces on a man-made world. The photos below are examples of the concept (Although, these are  actual  photographs, yours will be composites of original and found images).  The link below will take you to more examples. Mother Nature Think in terms of the juxtapositions between the reality of the man-made world and that of the inexorable power of nature. You will be looking for a high-contrast concept, rather than a subtle, low-contrast idea. The stronger the conceptual contrast, the more successful the image will be. If you need supplemental photos to incorporate into your composition (that you are unable to take), you may use copyright-free photos you find on the web.
