          Emotions Series http://jbrish.com/to-see-in-ways-others-cannot-crafting-the-photograph/ Your 1st assignment involves shooting a series of images that convey the range of human emotions identified in the previous post.  You will create one image for each of the 8 emotions.  The challenge is, that you will not be using human subjects to capture the emoti ons.  You can employ stationary objects, flora, fauna, food, automobiles, etc, whatever you can think of to demonstrate those emotions, however whatever subject you choose must remain consistent throughout the series. To create a successful series, you will also want consider what other visual or conceptual thread(s) you will have running through the series that will help to unify the images.  It could be color, cropping, location, lighting, backgrounds, etc, but the more elements that tie the images together, the more they will work as a series.  That said, each...

SUBFRAMING Subframing is a photographic compositional technique that uses a framing device inside of the image to frame the subject. You are about to embark on a program that stresses creativity, individual effort, independence and engagement.   This class will be more like a college class in that you will be responsible for managing your own time, your own resources and for challenging yourself with your own ideas and solutions to visual problems.
